Public Service Commission Advises Government to Appoint 195 Factory Inspectors

The Public Service Commission yesterday advised the labor and employment ministry to appoint 195 factory inspectors, a requirement for the reinstatement of the generalized system of preferences in the U.S. market.
Of the number, 133 will be appointed in the general category, while 39 in health and 23 in safety, from the waiting list of Bangladesh Civil Service examinees, said Mikail Shipar, secretary to the ministry.
“Once the appointment is complete, the total number of factory inspectors will be 283 as 88 inspectors are currently working under the labor and employment ministry,” Shipar said.
