USPS Asks, How Much Does a 1 lb. Box Weigh?
It sounds like a joke along the lines of "where can I find the bathroom scale?" (the bathroom, of course). But the U.S. Postal Service isn't joking when it asks "How much does a 1 lb. box weigh?" in a new ad.
The answer: "11 lbs., if you use the wrong shipping company."
The ad references "some shipping companies" that will be moving to dimensional weight pricing, which is based on the cubic size or dimension of the mail-piece and is designed to account for packages with a large size-to-weight ratio.
