Bay State Specialty Co. Acquires Americanna Company

Bay State Specialty Co., Middleboro, Mass., has acquired Plymouth, Massachusetts-based Americanna Company.

Going forward, Americanna Company will continue to operate under its current name as a division of Bay State Specialty Co., with all Americanna Company employees and operations eventually moving to Bay State's Lakeville, Mass., facility. Currently, the company is still in its Plymouth location, and expressed that distributors shouldn't see any disruption of service.

"We have been friendly competitors with Americanna for years, and have always had a keen interest in the well-run company," Michael Moore, president of Bay State Specialty Co., said in a press release. "We jumped at the opportunity when it was presented to us. We are excited to be able to continue the family business tradition of Americanna with this acquisition."
