Lands’ End Business Outfitters Announces Results of 2010 Holiday Survey
According to the 2010 Holiday Business Gift Survey conducted by Dodgeville, Wisconsin-based Lands’ End Business Outfitters, more than 54 percent of employers are planning on buying a gift on behalf of their organization–and 58 percent of employees and business partners are looking forward to it. In fact, given the option, nearly 73 percent of respondents would rather receive a high-quality gift than an office holiday party.
The survey also found that most employers that intend to purchase holiday gifts for employees and clients plan on spending the same amount as they did last year, with most spending $25 or less per employee or client.
“The holidays are a great time to reward work well done and valuable partnerships, and what better way to express gratitude than with a thoughtful corporate gift,” said John Maher, vice president, Lands’ End Business Outfitters. “Opt for practical gifts and high-quality products that can be used in and out of the workplace all year long.”
The 2010 Holiday Business Gift Survey also uncovered the following facts:
Best Bet Gifts– When asked to select the category of gift employees or business partners would most like to receive, employers listed apparel (37 percent) followed by gift cards (34 percent). Survey respondents tend to agree, with gift cards (42 percent) leading the pack followed by apparel (36 percent).
Forget Tradition–When given an option of traditional gifts including a holiday ornament, turkey, ham, fruitcake and popcorn 50 percent of employees said they don’t want any of the above. The holiday ham ranked in at 18 percent and the office turkey at 15 percent.
Be Practical – According to employers the most important attribute when selecting a gift is practicality (36 percent), followed by its ability to be logo’d (22 percent) and budget (18 percent).
