Prime Line Educates on Product Safety at QCA Brand Event

Prime Line, the Bridgeport, Connecticut-based promotional products company, was one of several industry suppliers to discuss product safety and brand protection at the Quality Certification Alliance (QCA) Brand Event in Chicago. The audience consisted of distributors and their clients, including some from Fortune 500 companies.

“It’s every end-buyer’s worst nightmare to show up on the front page as part of a product recall story that threatens the credibility of their brand,” said Marcus Sweeney, national account manager for Prime Line, during his presentation at the event. “By taking the extra step in ensuring product safety and advocating compliant products, we’re attempting to minimize this possibility.”

Attending distributors invited several of their customers to the event. “It was a great opportunity for us to educate end-buyers and identify their hot points,” Sweeney said. “Our association with QCA is important to end-buyers’ understanding how we go about our business. They learned that by asking their distributors to work with QCA-accredited suppliers, it can take a load off their shoulders. They were excited to learn that our vision for quality and safety is on par with theirs or a step above. It instilled confidence in them for Prime and its products.”

Prime Line is one of a few companies to maintain an in-house testing lab to detect any non-compliant product that may have shown up in its system. According to the company, every container load arriving at Prime Line’s warehouse is tested to meet lead standards for children’s products. Most of Prime Line’s products are CPSIA compliant and have been subjected to third-party testing.
