Promotional Products Education Foundation Awards $100,000 In College Scholarships
June 30, 2009The Irving, Texas, Promotional Products Education Foundation (PPEF) announced the recipients of $100,000 awarded in college scholarships for 2009.
Scholarships are presented in the following categories:
Four-Year College Scholarship for Academic Excellence and Achievement
($4,000, awarded $1,000 annually for four years)
This scholarship is available to promotional products industry employees or their dependents entering a four-year accredited college or university as a freshman in the fall of 2009. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to apply. Scholarships are renewable for the four years of college, provided that the student meets the minimum GPA requirement and current employment in the promotional products industry is maintained by the student or parent.

* Alexis Anderson of Pueblo, Colorado, daughter of Randy Anderson, Imprinted Sportswear Shop
* Catherine Baxter of Cincinnati, daughter of Meegan Baxter, Brilliant Promotions
* Delaney Dustman of Burlington, Wisconsin, daughter of Michael Dustman, Meridian Metal Works
* Paul Gonzales Jr. of San Antonio, son of Yvonne Gonzales, Norwood Promotional Products
* Theodore Grodek of Brooklyn, Ohio, son of Kenneth and Susan Grodek, Embroid Me
* Catherine Heinzinger of Mahopac, New York, daughter of Marian Heinzinger, ASAP- Ad Specialties and Promotions
* Lindsay Kaudelka of Boone, North Carolina, daughter of Walter Kaudelka, Hospitality Mints
* Lee Keller of Carmel, Indiana, daughter of Robert E. Keller, Norwood Promotional Products
* Brendan O'Boyle of Charlotte, North Carolina, son of Thomas O’Boyle, Journalbooks
* Tammy Thai of Quincy, Massachusetts, daughter of Truong Thai, Hub Pen Company
Chairman’s College Scholarship
($5,000, awarded $2,500 annually for two years)
This scholarship is available to promotional products industry employees or their dependents entering their junior year of college, actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an academic field related to promotional products and expressing a clear intent to enter the promotional products industry after graduation. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to apply. Scholarships are renewable for the junior and senior years of college, provided that the student meets the minimum GPA requirement and current employment in the promotional products industry is maintained by the student or parent.

* Brittany Dalton of Collierville, Tennessee, daughter of Jill O’Brien, POP Solutions Group
* Kristen Smith of North Royalton, Ohio, daughter of Andrew Smith, Proforma Solutions for Business
One-Year College Scholarship
($1,000- nonrenewable)
This scholarship is available to promotional products industry employees or their dependents attending a two-year or four-year accredited undergraduate college or university. Students must take at least six credit hours per semester and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to apply.
