Staples is investigating a potential credit card data breach that could leave customers' credit cards vulnerable to fraud. It was found that a string of fraudulent credit transactions could be traced back to the office supply retailer, according to a report by Technologytell.

While Staples conducts its own investigation, it has contacted law enforcement agencies that will also look into the fraudulent credit and debit card activity. There is evidence that leads to Staples locations in the northeast U.S. having compromised payment systems.
