Supplier Knobby Krafters Inc. will produce its one-billionth plastic lapel pin in December 2012 at its original facility in Attleboro, Mass. Established in 1924, Knobby Krafters is now run by the fifth generation of the Nerney family. Originally producing costume and emblematic jewelry, Knobby Krafters began producing plastic lapel pins in the mid-1940s.
