Let’s Go to the Movies: 5 Award-Winning Ideas for Oscar’s Big Night

The nominations have been announced. On February 24, the Who’s Who of Hollywood will congregate at the Dolby Theatre for the 85th Annual Academy Awards.

A lot of preparation goes into the award season’s grand finale. As you read this, celebrities are agonizing over which designer should create their red-carpet stunner. Acceptance speeches are being written with the hope that “the little people” will hear them ... you know, the kind that begin with: “I’m shocked ... I can’t believe this is happening!" *Insert tears and intermittent gasps*. And nominees aren’t just dreaming about a steamy night with George Clooney. They’re hoping to go home with another special guy—the gold statuette named Oscar (don’t think I can’t feel your eyes rolling at that line).

If your clients are like me, they will be tuned in to the show. Perhaps they have a friendly wager going to see if anyone can take down Daniel Day Lewis. And maybe they’re even planning an Oscar-themed party or event.

This is where you can be of service. Share some ideas to ensure their party receives top billing. Seriously, is there an award for “Best Oscar Party?” After all, sound mixing gets its own category. If you’re not sure where to start, read on!

1. Movie Theatre Tub from Mid-Nite Snax

Popcorn is the perfect movie snack. So why not chow down on a few kernels while watching an award show all about movies? The Move Theatre Tub from Mid-Nite Snax features a four-color process label on the lid and a body wrap. If you decide to forego the lid, that leaves more hand room for popcorn picking.

2. Audrey Hepburn Mug from Tiffany Leonard & Co.

Nothing represents old hollywood glamor like Audrey Hepburn. The stunning beauty lends her timeless image to this 12 oz. tribute Audrey Hepburn Mug from Tiffany Leonard & Co. A must-have for any classic movie buff, the mug is microwave and dishwasher safe.

3. Movie Slate Highlighter from AP Specialties

The Movie Slate Highlighter from AP Specialties helps users keep their Oscar pools organized (and colorful). The eye-catching movie clapboard case includes pink, yellow and green highlighters.

4. Microphone from Ariel Premium Supply
A special tribute to movie musicals of the last decade is planned for this year’s ceremony. Belt out those high notes with your very own Microphone from Ariel Premium Supply.

5. Movie Director Metal Sculpture from Corporate Keepsakes

While Hollywood’s elite take the gold in their chosen category, hand out awards to your party guests. Think “Best Dressed,” “Best Fake Acceptance Speech,” “Best On-Demand Crying,” etc. The Movie Director Metal Sculpture from Corporate Keepsakes fits the bill. And while you’re at it, you deserve an award for “Best Party Host.”
