U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seized 5,382 pieces of counterfeit soccer apparel near Washington Dulles International Airport on Nov. 2, according to a Nov. 10 release from CBP.
The estimated manufacturer’s retail price for the haul, had the pieces been genuine, was listed at $16,791.
The jersey tops and shorts violated the intellectual property rights of multiple well-known European soccer clubs, including Arsenal, Barcelona, Brazil, Bayern Munchen, Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea, Juventus, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur.
