A Corinna, Maine-based sportswear company that made counterfeit apparel featuring the logos of several Boston professional sports teams has been fined $10,000 and ordered to pay nearly $12,000 in restitution.
A federal judge on Friday imposed the fine on Robert Berg Enterprises Inc., doing business as Berg Sportswear, according to U.S. Attorney Thomas Delahanty II. The company owner pleaded guilty to trafficking in counterfeit goods in June 2014, Delahanty said.
Prosecutors said the company is a screen printing business that prints, markets and sells items of apparel that bear trademarks and other logos.
