4 Promotional Apparel Lessons From Kellogg's Extremely Cool Cereal Merch Line
Food apparel—everybody's doing it. From Arby's to KFC, the latest food craze has very little to do with actual food. Consumers are loving the chance to sport their favorite foods as outfits, and it looks like Kellogg's is the latest company to get in on the trend.
The buzz surrounding Kellogg's new merchandise collection with Typo is actually very positive, and we think there's a few lessons here for promotional apparel suppliers and distributors.
Keep reading for the four tips.
1. Bet On Socks
We've already told you that promotional socks are a huge area for promotional potential, and Kellogg's inclusion of socks in its new merchandise line proves our point. There's no need to get fancy with your branded socks, but we suggest you add some to your lineup.
2. Keep It Simple
One of our favorite products in Kellogg's cereal line is the Mini Backpack. It's a simple, small black backpack which features the most adorable branding on the bottom right corner of the pocket. When it comes to promotional apparel, we know it's all about the logo, but the logo can be both eye-catching and simple.
3. Make It Fun
Just because your clients won't sport a more youthful look to business meetings doesn't meet you should avoid a more fun promotion. Kellogg's Novelty Slippers might not make it to any big boardroom meetings, but they will be a dorm room staple for years to come.
4. Draw On Nostalgia
Part of what makes the Kellogg's merchandise so appealing is its connection with nostalgia. Consumers everywhere grew up with the famed Kellogg's cereal branding, so it makes it even more compelling to purchase items featuring the comforting Froot Loops and Pop-Tarts logos. For your next promotional apparel campaign, consider bringing back one of your client's retro logos, or use a font that is reminiscent of the good ol' days.
