Neenah, Wisconsin-based distributor network AIA Corporation recently held a penny war coinciding with a food/litter drive with all contributions being donated to a local group.
AIA hosted a penny war, with proceeds going to a local nonprofit. For this fundraising effort, OARS was chosen. OARS (Orphan Animal Rescue and Sanctuary) is a no-kill, volunteer-driven nonprofit animal rescue. They are a network of foster homes with a small adoption center located in Neenah, Wis. As a result of the competitive penny war, AIA staff members contributed close to $400 during the two week event.
Corresponding with the penny war, AIA also held a food/litter drive. A large amount of goods and supplies were collected and distributed to the Neenah OARS location.
“OARS is an outstanding organization that rescues pets and then gives people the chance to adopt these animals," said Heidi Arndt, AIA staff member and recent animal adopter. "We adopted our kittens, Nacho and Nemo, from OARS. They were a great addition to our family and we love them very much," she said. "OARS made the adoption process easy and memorable. I am grateful to be associated with the organization and continue to tell others about OARS and our new additions in hopes that other animals will connect with caring people and loving homes.”
“I was really happy to hear that AIA Corporation chose OARS as the organization to focus on this quarter," Arndt continued. "Along with the food and litter drive, our penny war was a great way to get all employees involved and raise a significant monetary donation. The money, food and supplies will help them continue to rescue these animals and keep them healthy and happy until they are adopted into their new homes.”
