The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of Pizza Wheel pizza cutters from Calphalon Corp., Atlanta, following reports of injuries.
The CPSC reported that the handle of the pizza cutter can detach during use, posing a threat of laceration. The company sold approximately 328,000 units in the U.S. and 8,300 in Canada at retailers, such as Bed Bath & Beyond, J.C. Penney, Kohls, Target, Wal-Mart and Amazon.
So far, 11 people have reported incidents, including six reports of finger lacerations. One injury required stitches and another requiring medical attention to treat the wounds.
The CPSC recommended that consumers immediately stop using the item and contact Calphalon Corp. for a full refund.
