Charles River Apparel, a leading manufacturer of performance apparel based in Sharon, Mass., was named the Kars4Kids Charity Moment contest winner for the week of June 25. The company will be recognized for their partnership with the Wellness Warriors, Massachusetts's only dragon boat team for cancer survivors and caregivers, through a weeklong campaign broadcasted on national CBS radio stations beginning June 25.
Charles River Apparel recently purchased and donated a pink dragon boat to the team and celebrated the blessing of the new boat last month in a special ceremony. Additionally, the company is the team's official outerwear sponsor and donates office space at their Sharon headquarters.
The national contest is part of the Kars4Kids car donation program which encourages individuals and groups to share their stories through social media by submitting a description of the charitable act through a special Facebook contest page. Each week, a winner is chosen and their story is broadcasted on national CBS radio stations for one week.
"The Wellness Warriors team is so important to us and it is such an honor to have our special connection nationally recognized by the Kars4Kids program," said Kate Souza, public relations specialist for Charles River Apparel. "This contest serves as a reminder of the good that happens every day and we feel lucky to have our story broadcasted for so many to hear."
Kars4Kids is a national car donation organization that benefits Joy for Our Youth, a national organization dedicated to addressing the education, material, emotional and spiritual needs of Jewish children and their families.
