Children's Charity Drive at 2013 SAAC Show
The Specialty Advertising Association of California (SAAC), the Southern California region's nonprofit association, will be collecting unwanted promotional items for the Kids In Need, Mully Children's Family and Threads charitable organizations at the 2013 SAAC show. All items are welcome, but school supplies such as pens and notepads are especially appreciated, as is children's apparel. Both decorated and undecorated goods will be accepted, and packing boxes will be provided at the donation area. Staff at the show registration and help areas will be able to direct those interested to where they can drop off their donations.
"These charities mean a lot to SAAC because they are all about helping kids in need and giving back," said Sarah deBoer, MAS, SAAC president and regional sales manager, business gifts at A.T. Cross. "There is a pure joy that we experience in giving. As Winston Churchill said, 'We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.' It's about caring, serving, helping each other and knowing that we each have a role to play in this life," she said. "What little we can do will make such a big difference; for a small cost, each penny, dollar or even small promotional item goes such a long way."
There will also be a networking event tied in with the Promo Kitchen party so attendees can learn more about the charities. The party is currently scheduled for Tuesday, August 6, at Bogart & Co. Promo Kitchen is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and the charities from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
