Cintas Corporation Snags Hotel and Cruise Accolades at 2014 Image of the Year Awards
Cincinnati-based Cintas Corporation received three 2014 Image of the Year Awards in Las Vegas. Presented by the Image Apparel Institute, a division of the NAUMD, the IOY awards recognize fashion, function, creativity and innovation. IAI recognized Cintas with three awards in the single-unit hotel, multi-unit hotel and cruise line categories.
"We are honored to receive an Image of the Year Award on behalf of our clients for the 15th consecutive year," said Dan Ambrosio, vice president, sales, global lodging & cruise. "Our longstanding success is the result of our apparel expertise, fashion savvy and commitment to helping clients build their brand. We are well-known throughout the industry as a creative and state-of-the-art uniform provider that goes the extra mile with its customer service."
Hyatt and Cintas joined forces to design the best multi-hotel uniform collection. The collection features contemporary styling, modern minimalism and unique signature apparel. For brand recognition, they selected AR RED Brand, the contemporary division of prestigious Austin Reed, internationally renowned for design excellence.
The award for single-unit hotels went to the apparel program designed by Fourmy, Cintas' luxury division, for the legendary St. Regis New York, a five-star luxury property by Starwood.
"Hyatt and Cintas brainstormed together to invent the perfect collection of contemporary styling, modern minimalism, and unique signature apparel," said Katerina Helebrantova, senior apparel designer for Cintas. "The new collection aims to enhance the professionalism of Hyatt employees with a branded label."
The award for single-unit hotels went to the apparel program at the legendary St. Regis New York, a five-star luxury property by Starwood. Fourmy, Cintas' luxury division, designed a distinguished look to complement the property's rich heritage and the St. Regis legacy, while also including a touch of modern flare. The collection features a winter doorman coat in custom red wool with gold buttons, an envelope fur resembling a Russian army cavalry officer and modernized tailcoats.
In the cruise line category, Holland America won top honors for its forward-thinking, innovative style. Working closely with Cintas designers, Holland America strived to make its uniforms more fashionable and stray away from the traditional cruise uniform. Cintas made a shipboard visit to discuss the wants and needs of department heads and crewmembers so they could develop a program that brought together all the necessary elements. The collection features unique uniforms designed for each area of the ship.
"The crisp new designs are a reflection of the gracious, elegant style of Holland America Line," said Hart Sugarman, deputy director, housekeeping operations for Holland America. "The new pieces are both practical and professional, and enable our crew members to comfortably deliver world-class service while maintaining a fashionable appearance."
