The college football season has a new final chapter this year, with the implementation of the playoff system. The Oregon Ducks and Ohio State Buckeyes won their respective bowl games, and are now heading to the national championship game. With the excitement building among players and fans alike, merchandise commemorating the historic victories has emerged on the market.
Though the Ducks and the Buckeyes are now facing off against each other, they do share one common item. Stores such as FansEdge have stocked shirts that read “Won Not Done,” with each school’s logo and a message announcing their bowl victory. Check out the Oregon and Ohio State versions here.
Ohio State fans have been making the most of their team’s postseason run, as the Columbus Dispatch reported that OSU merchandise has been flying off retail shelves. Before their official “Won Not Done” shirt hit the market, shirts emblazoned with the Ohio State and Alabama logos commemorating the Sugar Bowl were hot commodities. According to the article, Sugar Bowl T-shirts and sweatshirts have almost sold out in some locations.
As for the Oregon Ducks, whose Rose Bowl appearance meant a trip down the West Coast, they’ve made a temporary home in Los Angeles. Oregon Live reported that The Duck Store, which is a three-city chain based in Eugene, Ore., set up a new temporary location in Los Angeles for the game. The shop was stocked with Rose Bowl apparel and memorabilia including Oregon apparel, gifts, hats and other accessories. The best-selling items include a commemorative game ticket holder and Nike Rose Bowl Oregon jerseys.
The Ducks and the Buckeyes will go head-to-head on Monday, Jan. 12, so expect to see a wide variety of items celebrating the culmination of the new playoff format.
