Cort and Varner Join Adventures in Advertising Network
Neenah, Wisconsin-based Adventures in Advertising (AIA) announced it added two owners to its network. The additions include Cathey Cort, owner of Placerville, California-based AIA/AdsUp and Nancy Varner, owner of Seattle-based AIA/C’est Bon Creations LLC.
Cort has been in the promotional product industry for more than five years, and as owner of AIA/AdsUp, she offers graphic design, press release writing and submission, copywriting and marketing collateral creation services to complement her promotional products offerings.
Prior to entering the promotional products industry, Cort founded The Picture People Inc, a photography studio and wholesale lab based in the San Francisco Bay/Silicon Valley area, where she served as president. She followed that experience with a tenure as a publishers' representative for Minneapolis-based Jostens, a leader in the recognition industry.
Cort is an active member in a number of organizations including Promotional Marketing Association of Northern California (PMANC), the El Dorado County and El Dorado Hills Chambers of Commerce, and the El Dorado Arts Council. She is also a former board member of the Marble Valley Regional Center for the Arts and Soroptimist International. In 2008, she received the El Dorado County Home-Based Business of the Year Award, presented by Ted Gaines of the State Assembly and the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce.
Varner joined the promotional products industry in Seattle, 23 years ago after seeing a logoed ice cream scoop and “thought it would be fun to sell different promotional products.” Today, Varner’s AIA/C’est Bon Creations LLC continues to specialize in promotional products while featuring in-house graphic design, Web stores and fulfillment.
During her industry tenure, she has worked at Brown and Bigelow, AIA (before franchises existed), Custom Embroidery and Promotions, eCompany Store and The Farwest Group. A past member of Rotary, Varner is currently a member of National Association of Professional Women.
