As part of the company’s comprehensive plan to reorganize its operations globally, Dorcy International Inc., Columbus, Ohio, parent company of Dorcy Special Markets Division, announced that it will exit all aspects of its promotional products divisions in both the U.S. and Canada, and realign business support to key company priorities.
As part of the plan, Dorcy International Inc. will:
- Concentrate Dorcy Special Markets Division business strategies, and support for the core professional and consumer products business elements of the company.
- Focus and lead the personal, portable lighting product development and technological advancements for retail distribution.
- Develop other consumer product market opportunities.
“We are making key, targeted moves as we align operations in support of our retail distribution network,” said Tom Beckett, president and CEO of Dorcy International Inc. “As we move forward with our professional and consumer product initiatives, our efforts must be focused on how we optimize and expand Dorcy’s retail presence in this ever-changing marketplace.”
Dorcy International Inc. has entered into an agreement with Aprinta Promo, a division of Aprinta Group LLC, to market the complete line of Dorcy's portable lighting products to the promotional products industry through its Adva-Lite brand.
“We are excited to have Aprinta Promo and Adva-Lite representing the Dorcy product range,” Beckett said.
“This is a tremendous opportunity to reunite Dorcy and Adva-Lite in the promotional products industry once again," said Billy Dolan, president and CEO of the Aprinta Group LLC. "Adva-Lite’s greatest success came when this partnership was developing and marketing products together. This is a big step forward for Aprinta as we continue to expand the reach of our family of brands.”
Dorcy Special Markets Division production operations will cease effective Sept. 30. All Dorcy Special Markets Division personnel will be transitioned by the end of September. Purchase orders submitted to Dorcy Special Markets Division on or before Sept. 11 will be processed, shipped and invoiced as required through the end of the month. Any new purchase orders generated after Sept. 11 should be submitted to Aprinta Promo via e-mail or fax. Those distributor orders will be processed under the Aprinta Group LLC umbrella.
