You're Invited: Fashion Group Philly Presents Protecting the Brand - A Forum on Design, Copyright and Trademark Issues
Fashion Group International Philadelphia, a fashion industry nonprofit, professional organization, will present a design, copyright and trademark law discussion, "Protecting the Brand," Tuesday, April 17, 2012, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at Davio's, The Director's Room, 111 South 17th St., Philadelphia, PA.
With charges of counterfeiting, plagiarism and trademark infringement in the fashion industry currently being decided in the courts (Christian Louboutin vs. Yves Saint Laurent and Gucci vs. Guess), there's no better time for a discussion on branding and legal issues.
Legal and branding experts participating in the evening's panel discussion, (6:35 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.) include:
- Barbara Kolsun, General Counsel, Stuart Weitzman LLC;
- Guillermo Jimenez, Professor, International Trade and Marketing, Fashion Institute of Technology;
- Lisa A. Lori, Partner, Klehr, Harrison, Harvey, Branzburg, LLP; and
- Kirk Widra, Professor, Fashion Marketing, Art Institute of Philadelphia.
Prior to the panel discussion, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., attendees will have the opportunity to network and preview fall 2012 fashion trends. Evening includes appetizers, desserts and a cash bar.
