G&K Services Inc., a Minneapolis-based provider of branded uniform and facility services programs, announced the launch of its annual GKdirect Workforce for a Cure campaign to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The campaign encourages G&K Services Inc.’s customers to trade-in their everyday work wear and purchase pink ribbon breast cancer awareness work apparel. Ten percent of the awareness apparel purchase price is donated in each company’s name to the Hope Chest for Breast Cancer Foundation.
According to the Hope Chest for Breast Cancer Foundation, breast cancer incidence in women in the U.S. is one in eight over a lifetime. Through the campaign, GKdirect Workforce for a Cure aims to help companies raise awareness of this disease by allowing their employees to wear breast cancer awareness apparel during the month of October.
“For the seventh straight year, G&K Services is joining with our customers to support the fight against breast cancer,” said Ian Davis, vice president, U.S. field, for G&K Services Inc. “We value our customers’ dedication in raising awareness of this disease and supporting the search for a cure.”
This year, GKdirect Workforce for a Cure is offering 15 breast cancer awareness products, including polo shirts and soft-shell jackets. All awareness apparel is embroidered with the breast cancer awareness ribbon and includes room for companies to add their logos.
