Girl Scout Redesigns Cookie Packaging From 'Samoas' To 'Momoas' And It Includes An Image of Shirtless 'Aquaman'
Girl Scout Cookie season is here at last! It’s debatably everyone’s favorite season, and if anyone tries to tell you otherwise, they’re lying. It’s nearly impossible to avoid these cookies, especially since the scouts have booths set up everywhere from your local grocery store to your neighborhood sidewalks. But, this one Colorado-based Girl Scout in particular did something above and beyond with her marketing plan—she and her mom printed out images of shirtless "Aquaman" actor Jason Momoa, and turned the fan-favorite box of cookies into "Momoas" cookies.
The Girl Scout, Charlotte Homberg, has created a whole new level of hype over Samoas cookies—better known as Caramel deLites—and it all started with the packaging. Homberg and her mom recreated the original box and replaced the image with shirtless Momoa and renamed the cookies "Momoas." The redesign ended up being a huge hit and she sold out of the cookies completely.
According to CNN, Homberg and her mom only created a small amount of these unique boxes:
"She only made approximately 35 of these boxes to deliver to acquaintances, and never had any intention of mass marketing these particular boxes to consumers," the Girl Scouts told CNN. "Once those boxes were sold, she continued with her Girl Scout Cookie season as usual."
While some people felt as though this was a bad idea, others took to social media to applaud her for her fun approach to selling cookies.

Over the years, not only have the Girl Scout Cookies expanded in flavor options, but another thing to point out is that the cookie box packaging alone is very appealing to consumers. The box design includes a little blurb about the actual cookies, an inspirational quote and information about The Girl Scout Cookie program. Plus, it’s colorful and really grabs your attention (as if you weren't already sold on these awfully delicious cookies).
There’s a very valuable lesson here: There’s always room for packaging improvement. Even a brand as seemingly perfect as Girl Scout Cookies had a fun (and temporary) redesign, which turned out to be a huge hit. While this isn’t a total redesign of the famous Samoas cookie box, this was a tasteful way to get people to buy more cookies. We already know how the cookies taste, but when you add a shirtless photo of Aquaman and have a catchy new name for the box? Now that is genius.
