'Hamilton' Star Launches Merchandise Platform to Support Orlando Shooting Victims
Lin-Manuel Miranda, best-known as the star and writer of the hugely popular, Tony Award-winning musical "Hamilton," has launched an online merchandise platform, TeeRico, to raise money for victims of the shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Fla.
Miranda, who partnered with Broadway Cares on this project, will contribute funds to Equality Cares in Florida, according to Entertainment Weekly. The site will feature artist-provided designs for fans to purchase. Right now, there only is one design available, and it features a snippet from Miranda's Tony Award acceptance speech:
Love cannot be killed or swept aside. Now fill the world with music, love and pride. Love is love is love is love is love is love.
The T-shirt, designed by Jessica Sporn, costs $29.
At time of publication, the TeeRico home page said that Miranda will announce something on Twitter today. (Our money is on more T-shirt designs.)
