Harley-Davidson Sues T-shirt Company
According to The Milwaukee Business Times, motorcycle company Harley-Davidson is accusing online retailer SunFrog of selling its products with the company's trademarks and logos on them.
Harley claimed in a lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for Eastern Wisconsin that it has submitted more than 70 complaints against SunFrog about trademark rights, and that it reported more than 800 infringing products.
SunFrog allows sellers to upload designs to SunFrog's website, so it's easy to see how these trademark issues can happen.
Harley said SunFrog responded to its trademark objections, and that it agreed to deactivate the designs, but that the removal of the clothing in question has not happened yet. Now, Harley is seeking an order blocking SunFrog from selling any Harley-branded clothing, as well as statutory, compensatory and punitive damages from SunFrog.
