Image Source Named One of 100 Best Companies To Work For by Seattle Business Magazine
Promotional products distributor Image Source, Kirkland, Wash., has been named one of the 100 Best Companies To Work For 2013 by Seattle Business Magazine. The company was also recognized with the honor in 2011.
To be considered, thousands of employees from participating businesses submitted anonymous data about their employers. From there, research firm Fieldwork Webwork used the detailed responses to determine each company's score in 12 categories, including such vital areas as communication, executive leadership, corporate culture and workplace environment.
The nominated companies were separated into five classifications: small firms (30 or fewer employees), midsize (31 to 100 employees), large (more than 100 employees), nonprofits and firms headquartered outside Washington. The judges then made the final decisions based in part on the submitted data and overall research scores. Image Source was ranked No. 24 in the small firms category.
"As a business owner, one of the biggest and most important honors you can receive is being named a 'Best Place to Work,'" said Brian Haner, CEO of Image Source. "As we all know, we are only as good as our people. And if our people love working at Image Source, then we've done a good job giving them the tools and resources to grow professionally and be successful."
Image Source leaders work very hard to create a culture where people love coming to work, from the CEO greeting employees every morning in the kitchen when filling their coffee mugs to the president providing treats for the popular "Donut Friday." Every month, employee birthdays are recognized with a themed party, a personalized collage and a paid day off, and quarterly morale events are organized by The Culture Club. In addition to morale boosters, celebrating success is a big part of keeping a sales force motivated and there a numerous ways achievements are marked. Employees have the opportunity to earn iPads, plasma TVs, front-row parking spots, days off and more by winning quarterly sales contests.
"When collaborating with people 40 hours (or more!) every week, truly caring for each other makes all the difference in how we treat each other and our clients," said Jen Vacanti, marketing manager for Image Source. "And it's working—more than 10 percent of company's employees were hired in the last 12 months to accommodate business growth. That's why Image Source is the greatest company to work for!"
