Industry Marketing Veteran Debuts New Firm
A promotional products industry marketing and speaking professional launched her own company in August.
Mary Ellen Sokolski, MAS, MASI, started The Scarlet Marketeer Inc., Cherry Hill, N.J., a firm that will provide creative and marketing strategy services. She has been in the industry for 33 years, previously serving as marketing director for Philadelphia-based Bodek and Rhodes and Advertising Specialty Institute, Trevose, Pa. However, her dream always has been to open her own agency.
"You're familiar with multi-line reps for selling? Consider me a multi-line rep for marketing," Sokalski said. "For years, I've enjoyed helping other people who needed marketing advice. Owners are busy running their businesses [and] taking care of the everyday priorities [so] their creative marketing sometimes gets put on the back burner. I can be that back burner, whether they need help with press releases, promotions, social media, trade show strategies, booth design, special events or even creative sample kits.
"And because of my work with both suppliers and distributors, I can help them see things from the eyes of the customer and steer them in the direction of their goals, with three decades of best practices experience."
Sokalski has won a variety of awards for self-promotion campaigns, including eight PPAI Supplier Achievement Awards, four Pyramid Awards and several Best Booth Awards from the Imprinted Sportswear shows.
"From helping with branding, to creating an exhibit, to developing an innovative lead-generation tactic for our first show, Mary Ellen delivers the results you want," said Scarlet Marketeer client Scott Nussinow, MAS, an industry veteran who developed GweePromo, a new supplier of anti-microbial tech-cessories. "She is simply the best at marketing, and I am thrilled to have her on my team."
