Jarden Corp. Acquires Jostens for $1.5 Billion

Jarden Corp., a Boca Raton, Florida-based consumer products company, is acquiring Jostens, a Minneapolis-based school apparel and merchandise company, for $1.5 billion, according to Sun Sentinel.
Jostens specializes in yearbooks, class and championship rings for students and professional athletes, caps and gowns for graduation ceremonies, diplomas, and varsity jackets.
Jarden Corp. already has more than 120 consumer brands, such as Crock-Pot, Mr. Coffee, FoodSaver and Oster.
Jarden Corp. is acquiring Jostens from KKR, aPriori Capital Partners and other stockholders, and, subject to closing conditions, the companies expect the acquisition to close before the end of the year.
