For years, JP Promotional Products Inc., Ossining, N.Y., relied on word of mouth to grow its business. Then the world went digital. Social networks and apps took hold, unleashing entirely new ways of sharing everything from photos and wish lists to reviews and recommendations. JP Promotional Products Inc. got on board with the trend, joining the Ariba Network, a global business network operated by Ariba, an SAP company.
On Oct. 13, the company will share the secrets of its success with other selling organizations at the 2015 Ariba Commerce Summit in New York City, a free one-day event to be held at Convene Times Square.
“As a small, woman-owned company, the challenge to bring in new customers and to grow is constant,” said JP Promotional Products Inc. president Shari Pulver, who runs the company with her father, JP Promotional Products Inc. chairman Robert Rosenthal. “In connecting to a digital marketplace like Ariba, we can find opportunities with new partners and compete for them on equal footing with much larger competitors.”
Within 30 minutes of signing on to Ariba Discovery, a cloud-based service for matching business buyers and sellers globally, Rosenthal found a request for imprinted socks from a Fortune 100 company.
“These kinds of opportunities are very difficult to break into just by knocking at the door,” Rosenthal said. “Ariba is an inexpensive and highly effective way to win new leads and grow our business, and will remain a critical part of our marketing process."
