Louis Vuitton Is Charging $995 for $299 Earbuds With Its Logo On Them
With Logomania continuing to dominate trend forecasts and streetwear snapshots, brands are continuing to market around their prized logos. Brands like Supreme, Gucci and Calvin Klein know the value of their logos, and, as a result, they are able to capitalize on the trend by throwing their branding on a variety of merchandise. The latest brand to take advantage of the logo craze is Louis Vuitton.
The luxury fashion retailer recently dropped a pair of LV branded earbuds that will cost shoppers a whopping $995. The earbuds themselves are Master & Dynamic MW07 buds that cost $299 without the branding. So, if we were to do the math (read: pull up our iPhone calculator), the value of Louis Vuitton's logo comes in at $696.

It's no surprise that people are willing to pay this kind of surcharge for name-brand goods. Balenciaga charged $595 for a pair of Bernie Sanders-branded pool slides. And, a Gucci collaboration with Paramount featured T-shirts selling for $590.
While social media commentators might troll Louis Vuitton for the ridiculously priced earbuds, the company is laughing all the way to the bank. People are willing to pay big bucks to sport these luxury brands, no matter what the logo is on. Just look at this $735 dry cleaning bag dress Moschino released two years ago. Louis Vuitton has always been a champion of the logo, and with Logomania continuing to gain in popularity, there's no reason the company shouldn't create an array of branded goods.
