Marvel Fans Can Eat Popcorn Out of Thor's Hammer Thanks to AMC Promo
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, only those who can prove themselves worthy can wield Mjolnir, Thor's famous hammer.
In real life, however, all it takes is $39.99. You can even eat popcorn out of it.
To commemorate the release of "Thor: Love and Thunder," AMC Theaters is selling a replica of Mjorlnir that doubles as a popcorn holder. According to Laughing Place, it's 16" tall, 10" wide and 6.5" deep, and is made of tin and plastic, making it a sturdy and extremely powerful popcorn bucket.

The thing is, Marvel fans won't be able to eat their popcorn out of Mjolnir while they're actually watching "Thor" in theaters. Pre-orders will be available now until July 17, and the hammers will be delivered in the fall. That means that they'll just have to bring Mjolnir to theaters to enjoy another fall blockbuster, or eat out of it at home once "Thor" is on streaming services.
But, according to HITC, the bucket has been spotted in real life at AMC locations, so getting your hands on the hammer might just come down to luck.
Table is worthy.
I hoped it would be free with a large popcorn, but it was the other way around. I had to have it.

Based on how McDonald's promotions, like those Pokemon cards and other giveaways, ended up on resale sites like eBay before they even reached the store, it wouldn't be surprise to see some AMC employees post a hammer or two online.
Whether you're deemed worthy to get it now, or have to wait until the fall, it's a pretty great promotion idea. Obviously, incorporating the hammer is a no-brainer, but Marvel and AMC could have just made a little hammer toy and called it a day. There's some added novelty and longevity with a purpose-driven product like a popcorn bucket.
And, in the age of streaming, it's a great incentive for people to go to the movie theater, so AMC was smart here.
