Massachusetts Nonprofit Teams Up With Promotional Product Company
A Cambridge, Mass. nonprofit called Technology Underwriting Greater Good (TUGG) has launched a new program that allows tech firms to donate to other nonprofits while making business purchases. The program, called the "preferred suppliers" network, was launched last month, according to the Boston Globe. One of the first companies to partner with TUGG is a Springfield, Massachusetts-based promotional product company.
Whenever tech firms place orders with suppliers that are in the network, a percentage of the order amount goes to TUGG. So far, the program has made ties with Awards Co., a promotional products vendor; and Mercury Business Services, a Boston shipping company. Awards Co. donates 5 percent per order and Mercury donates 3 percent on all new accounts. Purchases through Amazon also go to TUGG, but through a different program.
Suppliers donating to a nonprofit could provide additional incentive for tech companies to purchase promotional products if they know part of the cost is going to a good cause. TUGG hopes to partner with an additional 15 to 20 vendors in the future.
