Distributors deal with commemorative awards all the time, but to present them to royalty? That's a bit more rare, to say the least.
Karen Hunter, owner of Head of the Hunt, an authorized Kaeser & Blair dealer, not only completed such a job, but did so on short notice. With clever use of technology and talented supplier partners, she succeeded at a once-in-a-lifetime job.
Promo Marketing: Could you briefly describe a promotion of yours that you consider one of your best?
Karen Hunter: I was asked to come up with a custom award for a member of a royal family that was visiting a pharmaceutical company here in New Jersey. I collaborated with Innocast and AGAS Manufacturing Group. We were under a tight time constraint, but working together we made the event date and were considered heroes by the buyers.
PM: What was the promotion's goal?
KH: The goal of the promotion was to give a unique gift commemorating the visit of the royal princess to this corporation.
PM: What kinds of items did you use in the promotion, and why?
KH: There was a crystal plate that was etched with a quote from the founder of the corporation. [There was] a metal plate etched with the commemoration information mounted to the marble base. Three flags, one for the USA, one for the country of the visiting princess and one that was the corporate flag of the pharma company.
PM: What, if anything, made this a good promotion for you? Why?
KH: "The client acted quickly, the factories were easy to work with, proofs were provided on all items and everything went very smoothly. The fewer times you touch a job once it's been placed, the more profitable the job. The factories exuded confidence in their abilities and provided information on the project every step of the way. The factories also did everything they said they were going to do.
