Newton Manufacturing and Salesforce.com Announce Strategic Partnership, Unveil Oasis
Newton, Iowa-based distributor Newton Manufacturing Company and enterprise cloud-computing company Salesforce.com have announced a strategic partnership to bring leading cloud-computing technologies to the promotional products industry. As part of their announcement, the companies introduced Oasis, an exclusive business technology suite designed to proactively meet the needs of promotional product distributors.
“As technology’s role in business has evolved from a management function into a strategic driver of business, Newton is committed to investing in technology to give our representatives a competitive advantage,” explains Jay Donlin, Newton’s executive vice president of sales and marketing. “Oasis is the next step in that evolution in the promotional products industry.”
Oasis is custom built from Salesforce.com’s industry-leading customer relationship management platform and completely integrated into Newton’s database. As a result, Newton Representatives have instant access to order information and complete visibility of their sales performance in real-time on any web-enabled device. However, the true advantage of Oasis is the trend analysis, reporting and business intelligence tools that the platform provides. Newton representatives can create action plans to proactively engage clients and follow through with Oasis’ library of Newton’s exclusive marketing materials.
In addition to providing data and reporting, Oasis facilitates real-time collaboration between Newton representatives and their sales service team members. Through this functionality, Newton will be able to improve workflow management to better serve their representatives and in turn allow representatives to better serve their clients. The increased efficiency gives representatives additional time to proactively engage clients and prospects to increase their sales.

As Mehta explains, the company chose to use a third party to develop a platform tailored to meet the needs of Newton representatives. Salesforce.com found Newton’s position in the promotional products industry and approach to technology equally attractive.
