This NFL season will culminate in Super Bowl 50, which will be held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. To celebrate, the NFL debuted its Super Bowl 50 collection of women’s apparel at its first NFL Style Showdown at Artbeam, a New York City floor venue, on Sept. 24. Sportscaster Erin Andrews hosted the event.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, the collection will go on sale on Oct. 15, with brands, such as 47 Brand, Majestic, Nike and G-III, contributing to the collection. The items will be stamped with a golden “50” logo, reminiscent of the San Francisco Bay Area’s Gold Rush history and its place in the Golden State.
“It’s going to be the ones with the most gold and the most sparkle because that's what Super Bowl 50 is all about,” said Rhiannon Madden, the NFL’s vice president for consumer products, in regard to what female fans might favor in the collection. “There’s something for every fan to gravitate to. If you don’t like the bling, you will still have those understand pieces for those people who want to show their passion but don’t want to wear so much sparkle.”
The NFL reached out to fashion bloggers, including Heather Zeller, who runs A Glam Slam, to curate items for the show. She placed the items in four categories—Athleisure, Casual Friday, Ladies' Night Out and Gameday. A Glam Slam posted images of the event, as well as the showcased apparel, and Zeller explained her work in detail in the video below.
