This Bag Is a Tote, Backpack and Fanny Pack All In One
Nike is teaming up with Tom Sachs, with whom it worked on a sneaker before, for a new bag product. Heralding the bag's versatility, Nike says the bag can transform from a waist pack, back pack or tote bag.
What's more, the bag's design is heavily influenced by NASA, using a fabric called dyneema. According to Creativity, dyneema "possesses around five times more tensile strength than steel by weight, yet can still float on water."
It was a pretty quick turnaround, too. Nike turned on the jets and designed the product from scratch in just 90 days.
The real key here is the bag's ability to "transform" depending on its intended purpose. People aren't looking to clutter their homes with different bags for different purposes. Especially young people (those dang millennials) focus on minimalism, so having a bag that they can use as a backpack for school, a waist pack for a day out on the town and a tote bag for shopping is extremely desirable.
We wouldn't be surprised to see more bags like this pop up in the promotional space.
