Philadelphia Eagles Player Wears Cleats for Fake Kanye West Charity on NFL's #MyCauseMyCleats Weekend

File that to "headlines we never thought we'd write."

Last weekend, the NFL took a break from its rigid uniform policy and allowed players to wear custom cleats in support of their favorite charity or cause. Deemed #MyCauseMyCleats, the campaign was a hit with players, many of whom came up with inspiring and creative ways to rep personal causes.

Some players, however, got a little more, um, creative than others:

That there is the cleat Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham wore during his game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The shoe is a variant of the Adidas Yeezy Boost, designed by none other than Kanye West. Green-Beckham said he wore the shoe to support the Yeezy Foundation.

The Yeezy Foundation does not exist.

There's no word yet on whether the NFL plans to punish Green-Beckham for violating the spirit of its charity day, but based on the league's track record of adjudicating against players for uniform violations, we'd be surprised if there weren't some kind of repercussions.

The NFL fined Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins $6,000 for wearing the same Yeezy cleats earlier this season, and last year fined two players for wearing gear supporting personal causes on non-league-sanctioned days.
