PPAI Announces Board of Directors Nominees, Award Finalists, Growth of ADvocate Program
PPAI, Irving, Texas, has announced the nominees for its 2007 Board of Directors. From the eight nominees, two suppliers and two distributors will be elected by PPAI supplier and distributor members. Those elected will serve a four-year term that begins at the conclusion of The PPAI Expo 2007 in Las Vegas. The ballot vote ends on September 15, and results will be announced later that month.
In an effort to increase voter participation, each distributor and supplier member, through their designated representative, will have the option of voting by mail or
electronically through an independent election administrator. Due to laws governing
businesses in the state, Texas voters will be required to vote by mail.
“From October through December, our staff will provide in-depth training on board leadership, the Association’s finances and the strategic plan as it relates to the elected board members’ areas of responsibility,” said Steve Slagle, PPAI president. “We feel that after the advanced training, they’ll be fully up to speed by The PPAI Expo 2007 when they officially take office.”
The 2007 Board of Directors nominees are: Eric Ekstrand, The Mort C. McClennan Co.; Steve Levschuk, Talbot Marketing; Tina Montgomery, L.W. Barrett Company; Steve Woodburn, eCompanyStore; Mary Dobsch, The Chest; Brandon Mackay, Snugz/USA; Bob Pierce, Dunbrooke Apparel; and Roni Wright, The Book Company.
In other company news, PPAI named 54 suppliers as finalists for the 2007 Supplier Achievement Awards. Three hundred eighty-six entries were submitted for consideration this year.
“Each year, we look forward to the challenge of selecting award recipients,” said Slagle. “All of the entries were worthy of consideration, but the outstanding attention to detail and customer service exhibited by the finalists make these suppliers exemplary models for the industry.”
Finalists will be recognized and winners announced at a special ceremony to be held at The PPAI Expo 2007 in January.
