R.S. Owens Ships AIS Lumiere Award
R.S. Owens, Chicago, announced the shipment of the Advanced Imaging Society’s (AIS) Lumiere awards to the Tokyo chapter, where they will await the announcements of the Japanese technology recipients this December.
The AIS organization was created to advance the creative arts and sciences of stereoscopic 3-D in film, with six global chapters, including Europe, Asia, the U.K. and the U.S. R.S. Owens designed and manufactured the award for the organization, including for the U.S. chapter's awards on Sept. 30 at Paramount Picture’s studio in Hollywood.
The award is designed to commemorate companies or movies that achieve both innovation and impact in moving the entertainment industry forward. The winged figure, frozen at the moment of flight, represents the future of film. Her head is surrounded with a masked apparatus to symbolize how film reality is revolutionized with every theatre visit.
The award combines precise detailing of the feathered wings with the smooth, graceful lines of the figure to create this contemporary award with a sparkling 24-karat gold electroplated finish.
The statuette is mounted on a black nickel-plated metal base with a brass engraving plate screwed into the surface.
