Recalled This Week: Pajamas, Hoodies, Teacups
Finally, Philadelphia-based Urban Outfitters recalled its "Cheeky" Teacups, which were labeled as "microwave safe," but when microwaved, its gold paint accents could spark, posing a fire hazard. The retailer has received one report of sparking, but no injuries were reported.
The 6 oz. teacups came in four varieties with floral motifs and gold accents with phrases, such as "booze," "hot mess" and "more whiskey please," painted on them. The bottom of the cup has "Dishwasher Safe," "Microwave safe" and "Made in China" printed on it.
The recall involves about 11,640 units in the United States and about 1,730 in Canada. The product has been sold at Urban Outfitters locations nationwide from August 2014 to January 2015 for $16. The cups are still available on www.urbanoutfitters.com.
The voluntary recall offers a full refund. For more information, call Urban Outfitters at (800) 282-2200 anytime, email service@urbanoutfitters.com or visit www.urbanoutfitters.com.
