This just seems counterintuitive, to be honest. Specific statistics vary, but at least half of all American women wear size 14 or above (which is considered to be "plus size" by the fashion industry, though I don't exactly know why). This segment of the buying population has been historically overlooked for decades—sizes are hard-to-find, clothes are not cut to fit curves, there's a dearth of trendy options, etc. Wouldn't it be better business, particularly in a recession, to finally listen to a famously ignored faction?
