Taco Bell Promotes Breakfast Menu Launch With Branded Sleepwear Line

Taco Bell really wants people to know that they serve breakfast. Not one to be outdone by its burger-flipping competitors, the Bell offered customers a free toasted breakfast burrito last week, and created a special line of pajamas for those early morning taco runs.

The sleepwear line extends just beyond men and women’s pajama sets, including taco slippers, a burrito blanket, a bath robe, an eye mask and a plush blanket modeled after Taco Bell’s beloved hot sauce packets.

The pajama sets and bath robe feature an all-over print of menu items like tacos, burritos, Crunchwraps and hot sauce packets. The sets run for $55, and the bath robe costs $60.

The most overt branding is actually on the eye mask, which features the message “Wake me up for Taco Bell.” The hot sauce packet blanket has the logo on it, too, but the eye mask uses the most of its real estate on the branding.

The slippers feature the logo on the bottom, so when you put your feet up to relax, people can see how much you love The Bell.

It would be easy to say that Taco Bell is just jumping on the all-over-print comfortwear merchandise bandwagon that other fast food companies are on right now, but that wouldn’t be entirely true. Some of you might even be thinking, “But wait, Brendan, Taco Bell definitely did pajamas before.”

You’re right.

Taco Bell released a line of waffle-taco pajamas in 2014, making them sort of trend setters in this area.

They weren’t the first to do breakfast, and they weren’t the first to make merchandise, but Taco Bell is kind of an OG when it comes to fast food pajamas, even if they’re just getting back into it now.

Sleepwear was also a good choice here, what with the natural tie-in to breakfast. It's similar to what Mucinex did with its "Sickwear" collection of branded pajamas designed specifically for anyone feeling a little under the weather. Sometimes, the obvious choice is the right one.
