Teavana Recalls Tumblers Due to Burn Hazard
Teavana, a subsidiary of Seattle-based beverage superpower Starbucks, is recalling its Flip Tumblers because they can leak hot liquid, posing a burn hazard, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
The 14 oz. tumblers have a clear plastic cap with a black base that screws onto a steel tumbler.
Teavana received 12 reports of the tumblers leaking, and one report of a burn injury to a consumer's abdomen.
The CPSC advised all customers to immediately stop using the items, and return them to a Teavana store (except the Columbia Mall in Columbia, Md.; and Dallas Fort-Worth Airport), or to contact Teavana for a mailer label to receive a refund in the form of a $45 credit.
