The Coolest Promotions from New York Comic Con
More than 100,000 people attended New York Comic Con this year, which took place Oct. 9 to 12. With the numerous booths and exhibits, there were many memorable promotional giveaways to be seen. Here are three eye-catching and effective promotions from this year's convention.
Disney promoted its upcoming releases "Big Hero Six" and "Tomorrowland" with numerous giveaways and prizes for attendees. Giveaway bags included commemorative buttons, posters and comic books. Disney also used wristbands promoting "Big Hero Six" to allow a select group of attendees to sneak a preview at the upcoming film. To see the full promotions, visit Business Insider.
Comic book publisher Dark Horse Comics gave out temporary tattoos promoting its "Ghost Fleet" title. If the comic's creator spotted anyone with the tattoo, they were given a "Ghost Fleet" can beverage insulator. For more information on the promotion, view the release from Bleeding Cool.
Harper Collins was also present, promoting its children's publications. Its booth featured a spinning prize wheel, where contestants could win advance copies of kids' and teen's series. It also threw in limited-edition Neil Gaiman tote bags and posters with the purchase of any Neil Gaiman children's book.
