This Snack Company Will Pay You in Merch to Taste-Test Their Cheese

If you ask people what their dream job is, we bet most will say musician, actor or sports star. But the correct answer is professional cheese-taster. You might think that that doesn’t exist, but, turns out now it does! Whisps Cheese Crisps, a snack company, is looking for a “cheese executive officer.” Specifically, someone that will taste-test cheese, help develop new flavors for the company and more. And, that’s not all. The new cheese executive officer will also receive up to $5,000 in cash, some merch, and a few other perks. Sounds pretty incredible, right? 

Now, before we get into the details of the job application, Whisps Cheese Crisps are essentially just little baked cheese pieces that look similar to croutons, but are made of cheese.

On its website, Whisps shared a message from CEO Ilana Fischer to the future cheese executive officer

My whole life I’ve dreamed for a job that would pay me to eat cheese. So excited to pass along my dream to you. This will no doubt be a fun and delicious competition. Looking forward to seeing your applications and welcoming our new expert taster.

The position looks to be a part-time gig, paying $25 per hour for five hours per month, paid as a one-time $1,500 stipend upfront. After doing some quick math, that comes out to a 12-month gig. Other qualifications for the job include being a “true cheese fanatic, have worked previously with a team (collaboration is key), not working for a competing snack company and must be 21 years or older,” as the website says. 

Unfortunately, the company didn’t share what type of merch they would be giving the new cheese executive officer, but just by guessing, we can definitely see a Whisps T-shirt, or a notebook to jot down notes on cheese tastings. Maybe even a hat so people know that you are, in fact, a professional cheese-taster. And, hopefully, a cheese board for meetings with the Cheese Board.
