Why This Bella+Canvas T-Shirt Costs $325,000

Bella+Canvas can now gloat that it has made the most expensive T-shirt ever. No, distributors and end-buyers don’t need to suddenly worry about spending a small fortune for a cotton tee.

British Artist Damien Hirst, who has done expensive collaborations with brands like Supreme, started a contest to give away one of his own T-shirts that he painted, The winner of the contest recently listed the T-shirt on eBay, with bidding opening at $325,000. As it happens, the T-shirt, which features the eBay logo across the chest, was made by Bella+Canvas.

It might’ve been a surprise, but Barry said she’s frankly not “totally surprised” that he used their shirt. Not only because she said it’s so soft, but because it’s been used by other high profile artists like Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Flume and G-Eazy.

“We just think it’s awesome to see a world-renowned artist choose us as his canvas, just as so many creatives in our industry do,” Barry added. “We are all about innovation and being different, so we love the idea of the T-shirt being reinvented as a piece of art.”
