Bloomberg Businessweek ran an interesting article a few days ago about the website Threadless and how they select which T-shirt designs to sell. I thought there were a couple ideas worth considering when working with promotional apparel.

If you're not familiar with Threadless, the site mixes standard online retail T-shirt vending with American Idol-esque voting.

American Apparel in talks with restructuring firm

Hipster brand American Apparel Inc. is in talks to bring in an outside restructuring firm as the manufacturer and retailer struggles to fix its flagging operations, sources told Reuters on Friday.

Lender Bank of America pressed American Apparel to hire the firm, a specialist in corporate turnarounds, according to people familiar with the matter.

American Apparel Announces NYSE Amex Acceptance of Plan of Compliance

Los Angeles-based American Apparel Inc., a vertically integrated manufacturer, distributor, and retailer of branded fashion basic apparel, announced that it received a letter from the NYSE Amex LLC (the "Exchange") that the Exchange accepted the company's previously submitted plan of compliance and, pursuant to such plan, has granted the company an extension until August 16, 2010 to regain compliance with its continued listing standards.
