There’s so much to blog about, like the “Miss America” actresses that hoover outside the exhibit entrances (complete with red, slinky evening gowns and bejeweled crowns) directing conventioneers to a prominent apparel supplier’s booth to redeem a free shirt or the (little, old) lady that guards usage of the computers in the Internet Cafe like an angry hawk. Prime Line Wins Web Awards

Bridgeport, Connecticut-based Prime Line proudly announced it has been selected as a winner of the 2008 PPAI Web Award for the category of Functionality/Usability. PPAF Announces New Expo Location

The Promotional Products Association of Florida (PPAF) has announced the move of its Expo to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., beginning in 2008. The 2008 PPAF Expo will be held Aug. 27 and 28. The PPAF Expo currently draws 650 distributors and 180 supplier exhibitors. By partnering with SAGE, an experienced tradeshow management company, and moving to the convention center, the PPAF board is confident the Expo will expand. Crystal D Selected Winner for 2008 PPAI Supplier Achievement Awards

Crystal D, St. Paul, Minn., was recently selected as a winner in two categories for the 2008 Promotional Products Association International Supplier Achievement Awards. The categories are “Etching-Engraving” and “Two or More Distinct Processes to Produce a Specific Visual Effect”. Crystal D submitted its crystal Columbus Award for the “Etching-Engraving” category. The item was front- and reverse-etched to create a unique visual effect. For the “Two or More Distinct Processes to Produce a Specific Visual Effect” category, a crystal NASCAR Car was submitted. To commemorate its 30th anniversary this year, Vantage Apparel, Avenel, N.J., transformed its booth at January’s PPAI Expo in Las Vegas into an art gallery showcasing 30 years of decorated apparel. A special on-site presentation took place to highlight the company’s 300,000th embroidery design. The milestone was reached in early January when CorpLogoWare submitted NASCAR artwork for a pending jacket order. Vantage digitizes an average of 10,000 logos per year, or more than 40 new logos per day. Bodek & Rhodes Recieves 8th Consecutive Supplier Golden Achievement Award

Bodek and Rhodes, Philadelphia, received PPAI’s Supplier Golden Achievement Award for Self Promotion. This year marks the eighth consecutive year Bodek and Rhodes has been given the honor. The PPAI Supplier Achievement Awards program recognizes suppliers for craftsmanship, creativity and graphic arts.
