KTP Design, New York, recently received a gold Suppliers Achievement Award from PPAI for a silk scarf it produced for an international wine festival. The award honors excellence in screen printing on textiles. This is the fourth consecutive Suppliers Achievement Award for KTP Design, and it’s fifth award in six years. Product entries were judged on the sharpness of the imprint, the difficulty involved, clarity and overall visual impact. “We are certainly honored to receive such a prestigious award,” said Pat Walsh, president. “It is a testament to our high standards and consistent quality to have received this award five times in the last

The catwalk was on fire at this year’s Fashion & Accessories Show, held Thurs., Jan., 4, at the PPAI Expo in Las Vegas. With the theme: “Where Products Meet Paparazzi”, a cluster of picture-taking fanatics dressed in safari gear mobbed the stage as models exploded on to the runway. To say the show was hot is an understatement. SanMar’s opening act to its “Step Up to SanMar” segment featured an ensemble of seductive dancers dressed in red-hot dresses and suits sashaying to the tunes of sultry 50s music. This was followed by an entourage of models donning selected garments from Dunbrooke’s Reebok line. One

Alo, Los Angeles, the new apparel performance brand with technical features from Color Image Apparel, has launched www.alosport.com. Alo will make its debut at the PPAI Expo in Las Vegas, Jan. 2-6, 2007, booth #1321. Alosport.com will feature separate men’s and women’s sections, as well as a breakdown by activity with information on where and how each garment can be used. THERE ARE FEW things more attractive than a strong hand holding a weighty, well-designed pen. Maybe it’s a combination of the pen’s sleek finish, its brilliant gold or silver accents and its often intricate engravings coupled with the way the scribe’s pristine cuff (complete with cuff link) brushes the mahogany desk as the hand purposefully moves across a sheet of paper. Perhaps it’s the sheer idea of power associated with the whole thing that makes this a lovely sight to behold. Whatever the case, there is no question that writing instruments continue to be one of the industry’s top sellers, and with good reason.
