For the second year in a row, SanMar, Seattle, was recognized for outstanding customer service by EmbroidMe, an embroidery and promotional products retail franchise based in West Palm Beach, Fla. The Vendor of the Year award was presented to Jo Ann Pancheri, a SanMar account executive, at the Vendor Show in San Antonio earlier this month. Pancheri leads a team of SanMar customer service representatives, including Brian Butler, Sean Elder and Beth Lahore. SanMar, Seattle, has added apparel industry veteran Tom Lawson as manager for the southwest region. In this role, Lawson will represent Oklahoma and manage sales representatives in Texas, Kentucky, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and Missouri. “We are ecstatic to have Tom join us,” said Dan Tushar, national sales manager. “He brings apparel experience of the highest level and a keen understanding of what our customers need.” Lawson’s involvement in the apparel industry has spanned more than 20 years. Some of his key positions have included regional apparel sales manager and national department store manager for Nike, and national sales manager for Marika, a womens’ sportswear manufacturer.
Seattle-based SanMar has opened a new 770,000-sq.-ft. facility in West Chester, Ohio, which is estimated to be the wholesale apparel industry’s largest warehouse. The facility was constructed from the ground up and is strategically placed in close proximity to many population hubs in order to reach the greatest number of SanMar’s customers. The 36-page catalog features 12 new styles, including pants, outerwear and safety wear from CornerStone—SanMar’s workwear collection that premiered last year.
